Why not give MEDance (Middle Eastern Dance) a try?

Introductory Classes (Level I) present the basic movements and isolations of the dance. Learning the basics starts you on your way to the study and enjoyment of this great dance form.

  • No dance experience is necessary to begin
  • Leotards and tights are best for class but any loose, comfortable clothing will do.   Bare feet or light dance slippers.
  • 1-2 Intro level classes are recommended before continuing to more advanced classes.

Beginner Classes (Level II) continue on from the basic introductory classes and build up the dancer's step vocabulary and MEDance knowledge
  • Hip articulations and footwork
  • Combinations with arms and movement
  • Introduction of props and zills
  • Basic choreography as well as free style exercises

Intermediate (Level III)  and Advanced (Level IV) level classes are available for those wishing to continue studying Middle Eastern Dance.  Continuing Classes cover
  • a broader range of steps and combinations to develop your dance knowledge and expertise.
  • The use of props such as veils and canes
  • basic music theory will be presented including the use of finger cymbals (a.k.a. zills or sagats).
Background on the various styles of the dance and it's history are also presented.

SPONSOR YOUR OWN CLASS:   recommended for 7 or more people

If you have the numbers and the space, sponsor your own dance class. Just hire the teacher! You set the numbers and what you charge. 

Hourly teaching fees:  $50.00 per hour (in town/ minimum 6 hours)   
Teaching fee only. Studio space/mileage extra

PRIVATE and SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS:   In Home

Private Lessons:  (one to one instruction)     $25.00/hour (my place)   $30.00/hour (your place)
Semi-private Lessons: (maximum 2 people)
$40.00/hour (my place)   $45.00/hour (your place)


GROUP LESSONS:    3+ PEOPLE  You supply the space. (Studio space can be rented for an extra fee

$60.00/hour                    Package:  $200.00/ 4 hours  (all at once or any combo)


DEMONSTRATIONS:  information and mini-dance lesson, plus performance: 

30-45 minutes:    $50.00                 1 hour: $75.00

Above based on 10 people. Over 10...add $5 per person. Rates above for 'in town'. Mileage charges may apply

WORKSHOPSrecommended for groups of 15-50

Dance Workshops are a fun alternative to taking class. 1/2 day, full day or 2 day workshops provide an opportunity to study MEDance 'in a day'.  Notes are included with the workshop. Subject can be tailored to specific requests.

Hourly teaching fees:  $100.00  per hour  + expenses/mileage (minimum:  2 hours)
